2024 Residential Energy Consumption Survey

I received a couple emails asking to complete a "mandatory" reporting requirement from the U.S Energy Information Administration. It consists of two- 2024 Residential Energy Consumption Survey (RECS) and Energy Supplier Survey (ESS). As I have never heard of the report, I'd like to see if anyone is familiar with this?

The email came from "recs2024ess@rti.org" and I did find some related information on the EIA's website. Just wanted to see if anyone else was contacted or had experience with this type of request.

I received this as well and filled it out. My GM assigned me as the new contact for this report, which we have filled out in past years.

Platform & Strategy Questions

1. What social platforms are you finding the most useful right now - and for what types of messages?

2. With so many platforms out there, how do you decide where to focus your time and energy?

3. Have you ever pulled back from a platform? What led to that decision, and how did it go?

Trends & Future Thinking

4. What social media trends are you excited about - or maybe skeptical of - this year?

5. Where do you see social media heading in the next 5 to 10 years? Are we ready for what’s coming?

6. How are things like AI, short-form video, or private communities (forums, groups, etc.) changing the way we connect with our customers?

Community & Engagement

7. What’s worked for you when it comes to building a real community - not just followers - on social media?

8. Have you found any creative ways to bring your audience into the conversation and make them feel part of your brand?

9. What’s the most surprising or unexpectedly positive reaction you’ve had to a social post?

Measurement & Impact

10. How do you measure success on social media - and has that changed over time?

11. Are there metrics you track that aren’t tied to algorithms, like customer sentiment or trust?

12. Can you share a time when a campaign didn’t perform as expected - and what you learned from it?

Calendar Month Billing Inquiry

Hello!!

Hope you are all well!

We are moving to NISC, a new ERP system, and have been evaluating the way we bill cutsomers. Quick question - are any utilities reading all of their meters on the first of the month and then spreading out billing throughout the month? And if so, any lessons learned? From an accounting and fuel expense perspective (we are a electric and gas utility), this is something we are considering, but we are concerned about other impacts this may cause.

Thanks,

Kate
