Trend in Solar Interconnection Applications

Question from Jordan @ Belmont:

Has anyone seen a downward (or any) trend in the number of applications for solar interconnection? This would be looking at the year over year number of applications and approvals over the past few years.

Social Media SOP for Municipal Utilities - Looking for Examples

Hi All!

We’re currently exploring the development of a formal SOP for social media at Ipswich Utilities. Right now, several stakeholders have access to and post on our platforms (primarily Facebook), and we’d like to better define our approach moving forward. Specifically, we're looking to outline:

  • Our stance on social media usage (the town has a formal social media policy that we follow, but we are looking to create our own)

  • Guidelines for posting, commenting, etc.

  • A communication/response plan

  • Roles and responsibilities

We have one person at PMLD who manages our Facebook Page and posting of various items, whether it be alerts, rebates, meeting notifications etc. At times our GM will post on Facebook. I also included our Social Media Policy.

Did anyone receive NEPPA Electricity 101 Slides?

Hello!

I was hoping to get my eyes on the slides from our Electricity 101 class at NEPPA. Has anyone received the slides. If not, I will reach out to Mike and request them for the group.

Thanks,

Kevin

Rebate Policies for Landlords

Hi all,

I'm Jordan Webster, Energy Specialist as Belmont Light, and I was curious what rebate policies other MLPs have for landlords that install residential energy efficiency and electrification upgrades in their communities?

Belmont's current rebate system applies credits based on electric account # and may have rebate caps per account based on "measure lifetime" of the eligible technologies. This means that residential landlords that live outside of Belmont aren't eligible for any rebates on investments made in Belmont residences, and ones that do live in Belmont are eligible only for properties connected to their electric account and would still have application caps as though they were a singular resident.

It's my take that landlords are uniquely positioned to have an outsized impact on the adoption of home electrification technologies, yet I see that many incentive programs don't allow them to be eligible. I am curious as to how others…

Hi Jordan

Georgetown's rebate program is for residential homeowners not tenants. So in theory, the landlord would be eligible for rebates to improve the residents with us.

Thanks, Mary

Local Broadcasting for Public Power

The MEAM Communications Group is exploring opportunities to create videos that support public power week and each of our local communities.

What utilities have local broadcasting stations or a relationship with a local school that would be interested in community programming?

Updating DSM/EE Programs

Is anyone looking at updating their rebates & incentives in the next year? I've done market research for what some things cost (attached) as well as looked at the actual costs from our applications over the last year. I'm tying this in with whether we should include/exclude items and updating the value of the rebate.

I'm interested in discussing what MLPs are looking at in terms of updating their programs.

The file doesn't seem to want to open for me- I'm not sure if the link is broken or if the download works for others and it's just our firewall.
