Self-installations
Has anyone had customers request rebates for work that has been done themselves? We have a customer that would like to receive the rebate for a self-installed ASHP unit. The unit meets the rest of our program guidelines, but we're hesitant on the self-installed portion of it.

We let DIYers do many of the other rebated weatherization services like installing insulation. We have quite a few contractors in our service area who are qualified to do the works, so long as they are licensed if necessary and if inspected under current building code. Did your town wiring inspector review this installation project? We also find some of our MLP Solar customers are qualified and have installed their own solar - after jumping through all the hoops, of course.
