Buy now Pay later Rebating

We now have customers making this new form of payment arrangement with their contractor. BNPL is just a convenient way for a seller to allow the buyer or homeowner to make several payments instead of a deposit and a final payment when the work is complete. But now, the homeowner hasn't completed paying for their mini-split for months after it was installed. We have a customer who's paying in this manner and won't have a final PAID invoice until June of next year. Of course, they want our rebate award for this year and we can't rebate next year when it was installed this year. This is not standard financing. How would you handle this? Would you award the rebate anyway?
