New Program: Fossil Fuel System Removal
We are testing out a separate program that will create an incentive for customers to remove their fossil fuel systems after they have switched over to heat pumps (possibly expanding to any all-electric heating source). I am creating the application requirements and ran into a internal debate: what information should I be requesting from the customer regarding the old system? Since it is no longer in the home, I thought it would be sufficient to just ask what the old fuel type and leave it at that.
I have attached what I've sketched out for data fields, document requirements and specific guidelines. I would love feedback to try and make sure we capture the correct data points from customers while making it easy for customers to complete.

Funny, Ben. I was just reviewing the MassSave rebates for heat pumps and came across the fuel optimization rebates. I think they tend toward capturing the "displaced" fossil fuel usage rather than abandoning the current central heating system - mainly because we're cold climate. That's why they require the integrated controls. We're also considering running the rebates directly to the contractors, so long as they list it in the invoice.
