Heat Pump Water Heaters
For those that have air-source heat pump water heater rebates, or are considering them:
What rebate levels for the units are you looking at?
What standards/requirements are you asking customers for?
Current calculations puts units smaller than 55 gallons at much higher savings than ones 55 gallons or larger. Is it wise to keep the rebate the same for all units or to encourage more savings growth?
Another aspect is what ones are more energy efficient overall, regardless of size. Efficiency Vermont is using Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance's (NEEA) standards to tier their rebate amounts, as evidenced by the QPL: https://www.efficiencyvermont.com/Media/Default/docs/rebates/qpls/efficiency-vermont-heat-pump-water-heaters-qualifying-products.pdf

MMWEC is evaluating this right now to deterimine if they need to make changes to the 2021 HELPS program. You might want to discuss with Joe Coles.
