Winter Moratorium Ending

Has anyone heard any news about the winter moratorium ending? Any indication the state may extend the moratorium past April 1, 2021 as they did last year due to the pandemic?

We are not resuming shut offs until July 1. However we included the attached flyer in our most recent "reminder" letters. I have proposed a COVID Electric Relief program to our Commission that they will vote on at the May meeting. If that passes, we'll include info on how to apply with the shut off letters mailing on June 1st.

Past Due Reminders

We're getting ready to send out our first "past due reminders" to customers since the pandemic hit. These notices are similar to what goes out during the winter. They simply remind customers that they are past due and can contact us to make payment arrangements. They do not indicate any intention to disconnect for non-payment.

Who has been sending these types of notices out? What kind of response have you gotten? Who plans to begin sending reminders out soon? Just trying to get a sense of where everyone is on this.

MGED has been sending out generic letters (which are typically the winter reminders prior to the end of the moratorium) since May. These were sent only to those whose balances are above $500 or so. No past due bills with shutoff dates yet.

Back to the office

BELD is back to normal staffing at the office on Monday, June 1st. Anyone else have plans to return?
